A while back it was reported that Lenovo had a tablet and a smartphone in the works. At that time there was no information as to when the slate and the handset would be announced. According to a report by GSMArena, at an event in Beijing, Lenovo announced the LePhone S2 and not one, but three new tablets under their LePad branding.
The LePhone S2
Contrary to the earlier rumours, the smartphone indeed runs on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and not Windows. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz single-core Scorpion processor and features a Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset. Here is a quick look at the highlighted features of the Lephone S2:
