RIM seem to be having a tough time at the moment, and now Apple has shipped more smartphones in RIM’s home country of Canada for the first time.
According to a recent report in 2011 RIM shipped a total of 2.08 million BlackBerry smartphones, and this compares to 2.85 million smartphones shipped by Apple for the same period.
This is the first time that Apple has sold more smartphones in Canada than RIM, in the previous year RIM sold 500,000 more smartphones than Apple, and in 2008 RIM sold five times more smartphones that Apple.
AT&T announced some of its devices which will be getting updated to the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and at the same time they have rolled out Android 4.0 to the HTC Vivid.
The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich brings a range of new features to the HTC Vivid, which include a new version of HTC’s custom Sense user interface and also updated Beats Audio.
On top of that the HTC vivid gets all the standard feature of Ice Cream Sandwich, which include Face Unlock, and much more, you can update you device by going to the link over at AT&T from you handset.
At the moment Blackberry could do with all the help it can get, to pull itself out the declining sales trajectory its currently following. But designs such as the one created by Toronto based design studio Pixelcarve, detailing a new concept for a Blackberry Blade smartphone, might help RIM turn a corner if they are adopted.
The Blackberry Blade concept design has a slight curved and the main touchscreen slides upward to reveal the familiar BlackBerry keyboard. In a similar style to slide out phones by Nokia in the early 90′s. But there are also fixed buttons beneath the touchscreen in addition to a trackpad.

Today Apple has rolled out new high-definition iTunes Movie Trailers to app to support the Retina Display on their new iPad 3 tablet. The new iTunes Movie Trailers application has now jumped to version 1.1 and allows you to view the newest and most exclusive movie previews in glorious HD on your new iPad 3.
Apple’s new iPad which launched a week ago today, features a massive 2048 x 1536 resolution, creating 3.1 million pixels on the iPad’s 9.7-inch screen. Which Apple, says is about four times as many pixels you find on the older iPad 2, and more than many HDTVs.
Even thought the new Apple iPad has only been out for juts a week, Apple has already sold three millions new iPads, and today has launched the new iPad in another 25 countries.
