Verizon Galaxy Nexus Launch Rumors Continue

December 9 has finally arrived, but with no Verizon Galaxy Nexus to show for it. Granted, Verizon never confirmed the date as the planned launch for the smartphone, but up until a few says ago, you'd be hard-pressed convincing us otherwise. Then rumors of a new delay popped up, seemingly out of nowhere, and we had to start rethinking the handset's release. One new rumor already arrived, suggesting December 13 might be when sales finally start. Today we look at a couple more, and see what Verizon's been up to in preparation for the launch.

First up, we have an email purported to come from a Verizon rep, saying that the Galaxy Nexus will now arrive on December 15. We know just how reliable these sort launch claims can be coming from reps, rather than via official company statement, so we're going to consider this one soundly out there in rumor territory.

Then there's a picture taken of a box full of Galaxy Nexus phones in a retailer's storeroom with "Street Date 12-31-11" written on in. Once again, this isn't a source we put tremendous faith in, but it's another potential date to keep in mind.

Finally, there's something that doesn't exactly help us with the phone's release date, but is interesting nonetheless. Verizon's URL for the Galaxy Nexus no longer goes to the sign-up page for information, but redirects to Verizon's online store with the phone identified as the "Samsung Nexus".
