Both Apple and Google have been trying to get into the TV market, with their connected devices, the Apple TV, which Apple’s former CEO, the late Steve Jobs once described as a hobby, and Google’s TV platform.
According to research firm Strategy Analytics, Apple’s set top box, the Apple TV is the most popular device in the connected set top box market with around a 32 percent share of the market.
There have been rumors that Apple is working on a new Apple HDTV set, which is expected to come with Apple’s voice assistant Siri, and it is rumored to launch some time next year.
We have also heard that a number of other manufacturers will be releasing new Google TV connected devices, some of which we are expecting to see in January at CES 2012.
