Microsoft is busy woking on their upcoming office suite - Office 2015. Winrumours is reporting that the first beta of the suite will be out as early as January, next year. A demonstraton of the Technology Preview is expected to be shown at CES 2012. Developments on the Windows 8 operating system should obviously be shown as well alongside Office 15. Windows 8 has integrated parts of the Office ribbon in many of their applications, already. The new suite is expected to be tightly knit with Windows 8, which by itself has undergone a major user interface overhaul in preparation of being used as a desktop and tablet OS.
This integration means Office 15 will have a Metro themed variant as well. Microsoft is developing a Moorea application that allows quick access to documents and data on the Metro interface. Along with Office 15 comes a new Outlook e-mail client, which is neater than previous versions. All the changes being made to the software are keeping in mind tablet and mobile device users. The interface of Outlook is likely to look closer to a minimalistic web based e-mail service than a highly complex desktop application. The applications should be usable with everything from a mouse, a pen or even a finger touch.
An appearance at CES, followed by a beta release is expected
