Motorola Defy+ JCB Edition arriving in December

The Defy+ is the longest running rugged Android phone in the market and come December, it’s going to get a whole lot tougher. You’re all familiar with JCB, the makers of diggers and loaders? Well, the Motorola Defy+ will sport a new avatar next month in the form of a limited JCB edition. The phone hasn’t undergone any changes at all, except for the fact that it will ship with a custom JCB branded case and whichever way you look at it, it’s simply hideous. The phone will also come with a 2-year extended warranty, all inclusive in the retail package. The smartphone or rather toughphone will go on sale in the UK for  £268.80 (approx. Rs.21,500) come December 6.
Bulking up!
Bulking up!

The new toughened case is said to make the Defy+ even more durable and resistant to shock, bumps and drops. The phone will also come pre-installed with a JCB app. This includes six tools, Therodolite, Spirit Level, Torch, Decibel Reader and a B&Q store locator. Clearly this is targeted at people who work in the construction industry and not for the average joe. Whether or not this will make it to our shores is still unknown. I still don’t get why JCB went with such an ugly case. though, a little thought in the design would have been much appreciated.
