New Lenovo ThinkPad T420 Review

ThinkPad T series is back! Lenovo has launched the successor to ThinkPad T410, the T420. It's great for business users thanks to innovative videoconferencing capabilities, comes with the familiar reliability reputation, is faster thanks to the new Intel Core i5-2520M 2.5GHz Sandy Bridge processor and has amazingly prolonged battery life all incorporated into the brilliant ThinkPad T architecture.Lenovo ThinkPad T420 comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit operating system.
ThinkPad T420's top variant has a 1600x900 native resolution 14-inch screen with Optimus-enabled graphic switchable option between the Intel HD Graphic 3000 and Nvidia NVS 4200M. With 500GB of hard drive storage capacity, 4GB RAM and DVD±RW optical drive, you've got a great product. It's just that it looks no different from the product it replaces!
The price in India of Lenovo Thinkpad T420 could be high for many too, as it costs around $1,264 (Rs. 62,028) for the above mentioned configuration. This is high compared to other laptops with the same basic components. But the interesting bit is that Lenovo advertises this price at its site as a discounted price in India, with the original price in India placed at $2,005 (Rs. 98.391). T420 base models are available from below $800 (Rs. 39,258), but again these are advertised as discounted prices with their original prices being around $1300 (Rs. 63,795) - a clever ploy that notebook manufacturers employ.

The entry-point Lenovo ThinkPad T420 comes with a Core i3-2350M 2.3GHz processor, a 1366x768 resolution screen, 320GB hard drive and integrated graphics. The base version comes with smaller battery, no Bluetooth, and no fingerprint reader.
