Logitech has launched Wireless Boombox officially for use with iPad, but also capable to be used with the iPod touch and iPhone. This is a major improvement over the earlier launched Bluetooth wireless speaker by Logitech for the iPad. It had some distinct disadvantages such as its medium size that was a bit large to carry around. But for all that size the audio didn't carry the punch too. With Wireless Boombox though, Logitech seems to have addressed the concerns.Portability is a major factor, but Logitech has realized that it shouldn't compromise on quality. Hence Wireless Boombox is actually larger than the earlier wireless speaker. Its width is more than a feet, which is greater than the Bluetooth sound bars offered by the competition, but which often provide compromised audio quality as a result. Not so with the Boombox. Its sound quality is a massive improvement, even more than Logitech's own portable stereo docks designed for the iPhone and iPod.
Logitech Wireless Boombox can actually be used with any Bluetooth-enabled product, not just the officially advertised iPad, iPod touch and iPhone. Users can actually pair it with their PC or laptop for musical entertainment throughout the day during work and connect it to the iPad at home when they're relaxing at night. Though larger than the wireless Bluetooth sound bars from the competition, the Boombox can still be carried around. That, along with the impressive sound quality puts the product head over heels above not only some competing products but also Logitech's portable stereo docks and the earlier iPad Bluetooth wireless speaker.
The Boombox has a rechargeable six-hour battery which is also an impressive stat for a Bluetooth wireless device. It is also well designed in external hardware terms, and is quite stable too with an in-built stand. There is also an auxiliary port and stereo cable for connecting the unit directly to a device not supporting Bluetooth.
With Bluetooth wireless connectivity as well as connectivity to devices not supporting Bluetooth, Logitech Wireless Boombox is totally universal and satisfies the description of a utility player. It may not be as compact as the competing wireless products but then many of these products are nowhere near in terms of audio quality.
