All Android phones available in the market look the same. Most of them are touch-driven devices with a few also sporting a slide-out keypad. But here comes an innovative and interesting phone from Motorola's stable— the BackFlip .

Living up to its name, the Backflip has the touch display on the top and the QWERTY keypad at the bottom. This is what differentiates it from the regular flips in which the main display and key­board are hidden inside. Right opposite the display is the 'Backtrack'. Replicating the work of a trackpad or a joystick, it is designed to be used with the index finger that is rendered use­less when one is using the QWERTY keypad. Using the 'Backtrack', one can navigate up, down, left and right. Interestingly, it can even be used for opening an application with a double tap. However, we found that accessing the 'Backtrack' along with the physical keypad wasn't as easy as we imagined.The 'search' key that is usually found below the display has been moved to the left corner of the QWERTY keypad that can be accessed only when the flip lid is open. When held like a bar, the keypad automatically gets locked, making it easy to use.

The innovation in design helped this flip device score full marks in the looks as well as innovation and utility depart­ments. It was the ancient version of the Android operating system (v1.5) that disappointed. Still, it managed to handle emails, updates on so­cial networking sites, web search and downloading third party application with ease.

How To – Jailbreak iPhone 4S, iPad 2 On iOS 5.0.1 Using Absinthe (Windows)

The long awaiting jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 was just released, Initially it was only for Mac users as Windows and Linux users were left behind.
But new tool Absinthe by Chronic Dev Team has been released for Windows too and they have kept it simple like a piece of cake like it was for Mac as anyone with A5 device can use it.
See below for a step by step guide on jailbreaking your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 using Absinthe on Windows.
Absinthe is a simple GUI tool which is designed to untethered jailbreak for the following devices and firmwares:

• iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406)
• iPad 2 Wifi/GSM/CDMA running iOS 5.0.1

NOTE: Please make sure you have took the full back up of your device before beginning with connecting to the iTunes.
Step 1: Download the compressed Absinthe package from the link given below. Extract all files and run the executable file.
Step 2: Connect your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S to your Mac computer using a USB cable and launch the Absinthe tool and you will be presented with a GUI box as shown below:

Step 3: You will notice a button on the right hand side of the Absinthe program which says ‘Jailbreak’. Once your device is connected this button will be highlighted, click that button to start the process. You will see words ‘Restoring in Progress’ on the screen. So, don’t be alarmed and please do not touch the device, the process can be quite time consuming.


Step 4: Once the restore is completed, unlock your iPhone / iPad and look for the ‘Absinthe’ icon which you can find on device’s Springboard. Connect your device with WiFi. Tapping the icon will launch the GreenPois0n website, and then your device will reboot. After the reboot is completed,  You will notice that Absinthe icon will now have replaced with Cydia icon.


NOTE: If you are receiving an ‘Error establishing connection’ message at this step, exit to your Springboard and be patient. The website servers are experiencing a massive increase in traffic so just keep trying to launch the Absinthe ‘app’. Alternatively, as a quick fix you can head over to the SETTINGS > GENERAL > NETWORK > VPN entry and then toggle VPN to ‘on’. This will cause an error message to be generated, which will reboot your device when dismissed. You can then launch the Absinthe icon again.

Step 5: Now your device is booted into a jailbroken state. You can now launch Cydia and follow through the process of setting up your favorite tweaks. Have Fun!

Apple introduces iPhoto '11 for iOS, updates iMovie and GarageBand

Apple has introduced iPhoto for the iPad and iPhone, along with major updates to iMovie and GarageBand, completing its suite of iLife apps for iOS. iPhoto includes Multi-Touch features, so you can use simple gestures to sort through hundreds of photos and find your best shots, enhance and retouch your images using fingertip brushes and share stunning photo journals with iCloud. iMovie now gives you the ability to create Hollywood-style trailers, as you record HD video on your iPad and iPhone. GarageBand introduces Jam Session, an innovative and fun feature that allows a group of friends to wirelessly connect their iOS devices to play instruments and record live music together. Each app takes full advantage of the Retina display on the new iPad for sharper and more realistic images and video. Along with this, the new iPad also features a 5 megapixel iSight camera so you can record, edit and watch 1080p HD video all on the device.

Trailers feature customizable graphics with soundtracks written by composers such as Academy Award-winner Hans Zimmer and performed by world class musicians like the London Symphony Orchestra. You can also share your movie trailers to YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook, and use AirPlay to stream them to Apple TV in high definition resolutions up to 1080p.

With the new Jam Session feature in GarageBand, you can invite up to three of your friends to get together and wirelessly connect your iOS devices to play and record as a group. Jam Session automatically synchronizes the tempo, key and chords of your Touch Instruments, so everyone sounds great. After jamming, everyone’s tracks are automatically collected on your iOS device for you to edit and mix. GarageBand also introduces Smart Strings, a new Touch Instrument that allows you to play an entire string orchestra with just one finger, along with the new Note Editor which allows you to fine tune a Touch Instrument recording instead of replaying it from scratch. Integration with iCloud keeps your GarageBand songs up to date across your iOS devices, and you can share your finished songs directly to Facebook, YouTube and SoundCloud.

Apple today also updated its iWork for iOS apps to offer 3D charts, so you can create and view 3D bar, line, area and pie charts. Pages now includes support for landscape orientation on iPhone and iPod touch, and Keynote gains new builds and transitions including Iris, Shimmer, Wipe, Flame, Swing and Fade Through Colour.

iPhoto, iMovie 1.3 and GarageBand 1.2 are available today for $4.99 (Rs. 250) each from the App Store. Keynote 1.6, Pages 1.6 and Numbers 1.6 are available today for $9.99 (Rs. 500) each from the App Store. Updates are available for free to existing customers.
